Staff Profile

My name is Jenna Harrison. I've been a Montessori teacher in St.Paul for more than fourteen years. I graduated with a BA from Macalester College in St.Paul and later got my teaching degree in upstate New York. I did my Montessori training in New York. I'm certified to teach both E1 and E2. I also have a Master's degree from Hamline University in St.Paul. 

I live close to our school. I often see kids from my classroom when I am grocery shopping and visiting Target. It's always fun to see my students. I also have two children of my own. They are older now, but I remember what it was like when they were in early elementary. I think being a parent helps me understand children on a deeper level. 

I love bringing the arts into my classroom. I enjoy making books with kids and using theater. I use music and poetry every day to teach reading and build community.

When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with my family. We love to take hikes, visit art festivals, and check out local museums. I also enjoy visiting thrift stores and painting old furniture in fun ways. 

I am always happy to meet with parents and answer questions. We are a team, working together to help children learn!
