Staff Profile

My name is Donald Pollard and I have been at Nokomis since 1991.  I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS degree in Physical Education and a Masters degree in Kinesiology.  The Physical Education program at Nokomis is designed to develop skills, fitness, teamwork and promote a healthy lifestyle through a variety of games and activities.

Students in the primary grades practice basic movements and spatial awareness while participating in activities that include tumbling, rhythms, throwing, and a number of group games which help develop positive social behavior.

The intermediate students develop skills and strategies through team activities that include soccer, basketball and team handball. Bowling, dance, floor hockey and manipulative games are also included in the curriculum. 

I like relaxing at home with my wife and two dogs as well as attend University of Minnesota football games.  I have one son. I also officiate high school basketball.  I live in the Twin Cities, but I'm originally from California.

I enjoy coming to Nokomis and working with the great students we have at our school.
