Staff Profile

Katie has been teaching at Nokomis Montessori since 2014. She teaches grades first through third in an E1 classroom, but has previously taught 2^nd and 5^th grades, as well. 

Katie earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Creighton University, a Master’s in Education from St. Mary’s University and an AMS certificate in Montessori from the University of Wisconsin at River Falls.

Katie grew up in the Twin Cities, in a family of five children. She went to elementary and high school in St. Paul and then moved away to attend college in Omaha, Nebraska.

When she’s not teaching, Katie enjoys spending time with her family. She also loves to hike outdoors, read a good book, bake and travel.

Katie feels very fortunate to be a teacher at Nokomis Montessori, where the students, teachers and parents work together to create a caring, peaceful community.
